We have changed the name from Children's Home Promise to Child Care Project Promise in order to have the possibility to work together as a Foundation as well as a family with other families, who are doing similar work or would like to start.

Sharing experiences

You may have read elsewhere on this site, or know from experience, that foster care is not easy. It is important and valuable to share our experiences with others. There are several (Dutch) families on Curacao who, like us, take in children. Additionally there are local families who do the same. Organizations that place the children sometimes favor these families because the cultural differences are less prominent. But there just aren't enough homes to place children in, so projects like ours are welcome, to provide a safe and loving place for hurting children.

Collaboration

We are in contact with several of these families who have been taking in children for quite some time now. In addition to sharing experience and advice with each other, we and the children have become friends.

More families

Despite our efforts and those of others there continues to be a great shortage of foster homes. It is our desire as a Foundation and as a family that more children will be helped. In the years to come we want to put extra effort in creating more placement opportunities in more families.
