Expansion

We are planning a big expansion for Embrace this year (2009) from the 8 to 10 who are served now to at least 30! 

Survey

Results from a survey that we held in neighboring schools showed that there is high demand for programs like Embrace. Through the survey we hoped to get data on which families and children needed assistance in the areas of after school care and guidance. The survey showed what we already knew: the needs exceed the places available; we are badly needed.

Plans

The expansion plans are ready. The current location of Foundation Meant to Shine is well suited for the expansion of Embrace. Some work will have to be done to make minor adjustments to create separate rooms for the different age-groups and levels. The yard is big enough to provide room for the children to play, and to even do this in separated groups.

Many things are left to be done to realize this dream. In order to take in more children we will need more workers to assist the children as well as work with the families. More volunteers, professionals and interns are needed. Additionally, we will need materials to make the adjustments to the house and redecorate the rooms. We believe that these plans will be realized with Gods help, through special funding requests, sponsors and private donations.
